How Green Analytics Corp. handles personal information on this website, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
This website is operated by Green Analytics Corp. (“Green Analytics”, “we”), a Canadian environmental consultancy. We are the controller of any personal information collected through this site. Questions about this policy, or requests about your information, go to our privacy officer at info@greenanalytics.ca.
We comply with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), the substantially similar provincial laws in British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec (including Quebec’s Law 25), Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and — for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — the GDPR and UK GDPR.
What we collect, and why
1. Enquiries you send us
When you use the contact form or the “tell us about your project” panel, we collect your name, email address, organisation (optional), the service you are interested in, and your message. We use it only to respond to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to manage that relationship. Legal basis: your consent (the box you tick when sending) and, for clients, performance of a contract. We keep enquiries for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, then delete them, unless they form part of a client file.
2. Cookieless site analytics
We measure which pages are read and roughly how visitors arrive, so we can improve the site. Our analytics are built in and run on our own server. They set no cookies, use no third-party analytics service, and store no IP addresses. Each visit is recorded as a page path, the referring website’s domain, a coarse device class (phone, tablet, desktop) and a one-way, salted digest of your IP address and browser that is only stable for one day; the salt is discarded after two days, after which nobody — including us — can link visits to a person. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used, with minimal impact on you. You can opt out at any time using the notice at the bottom of the page or by enabling Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser — we honour both.
3. Preferences stored in your browser
To remember that you have seen our privacy notice, opted out of analytics, or closed the project panel, we store small values in your browser’s local storage. These never leave your device, contain no personal information, and can be cleared through your browser settings at any time. They are strictly necessary for the choices you have made and are not used for tracking.
4. Admin access
Green Analytics staff who sign in to the site’s administration area receive a session cookie. It is used solely to keep them signed in and is not set for ordinary visitors.
What we do not do
- We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, pixels or fingerprinting.
- We do not sell, rent or share personal information with third parties for their own purposes.
- We do not send commercial electronic messages without your express consent, and every message we send includes a way to unsubscribe, as CASL requires.
- We do not load fonts, scripts or analytics from third-party servers, so no data about your visit is transmitted to other companies.
Where information is stored
This site and its database are hosted on infrastructure operated by Railway Corporation in the United States. Enquiries you send us may therefore be stored outside Canada and outside the EEA/UK, and could be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. Transfers from the EEA/UK rely on the provider’s standard contractual clauses. When you send an enquiry, a copy is emailed to the Green Analytics team through Resend, Inc., a transactional email provider in the United States, and handled thereafter in our Microsoft 365 business mailbox.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to give you a copy in a portable format, to stop using it, or to withdraw a consent you gave earlier. Write to info@greenanalytics.ca. We respond within 30 days and do not charge a fee. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, your provincial commissioner, or — in the EEA or UK — your local supervisory authority.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Enquiries are stored in a database accessible only to authenticated Green Analytics staff. We keep the number of people with access small and review it periodically.
Children
This site is intended for professionals and organisations. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is material, note it on this page for at least 30 days.
